Re: Monthly Rivals
Yeah. I like 'em. Every event is C class cars but from a different decade. The hot lap challenge is for 90's cars at Bernise Alps. I'm trying my best to beat Cobra's time without resorting to a Civic, with little luck haha
The Autocross Challenge is good too. 00's cars, but Turn 10 have put down a challenge in the description. You don't have to, but they challenge you to use an SUV. I went for a Range Rover and last I checked I was inside the top 400 with it.
Think the drag is 80's, but drag racing is boring in rivals mode. And the drift event is Catalunya School Circuit with 70's cars.

Re: Monthly Rivals
think the range rover time will be a challenge, car`s not so bad but need to get used to the course. 2 or 3 gates are awkward but other than that once the flow becomes natural i`m in the game.

Re: Monthly Rivals
You can definitely do it Si. You're always pretty close to me, and since I got a 5 second penalty you should find it that bit easier. I quite like the Rangey.
Although I do have to apologise though. I beat you Bernise Alps time... and finally Cobra's too.

Re: Monthly Rivals
bernese time was my third run
as you`ve beat it may have to try different car to keep it interesting.
the rangey time is a cracking one and i only crank up the 360 at stupid 0`clock in the morning when i can`t sleep so not always switched on enough for autocross, not to take anything away from your time.

YAAAAHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
220th on the leaderboard... in a brown Range Rover. Stoked. Checked the positions above me and I could only find two other SUV's (both of which are also Rangey's) one in 120th, and the other inside the top 30! Seems no-one else has been daft enough to give it a crack.

Re: Monthly Rivals
Thanks Si.
Yeah, it was pretty nerve racking near the end of the run. Lost so much time through the cones at the Corkscrew. Must have taken well over a dozen attempts though... probably nearer two dozen.

Re: Monthly Rivals
May have chance to give it a bash tonight. Working in the evening sucks. I now realise the only reason I still played FM4 was the club and the social side of it. Now I can't play at "sociable times" it's a bit boring.

Improved on everything, but still couldn't beat you Si.
1,000 point behind in the drifting.
0.3 behind at Sebring.
0.07 behind at Nurburgring.
It ain't over yet Si.

Re: Monthly Rivals
I quick car is a good car Si. You cars are quicker than me, so I wouldn't worry.
Think I'm going to have to change the Jag though. Just doesn't have the grip. Think the other two are capable though; just need to get the lap together.

Re: Monthly Rivals
the biggest pleasure for me is getting a non "leaderboard" car so far up, without traction. elitist and up me self, meh
makes it so much more satisfying

Re: Monthly Rivals
I'm not using traction control... or is that another punt at Seb/Red Bull. I agree though. You get to do the Clarkson smug face.

Re: Monthly Rivals
hahaha, clarkson smug face
certainly not a dig at you daniel, noticed a lot lately in fm4/fp5 that lots of the so called top leaderboard drivers are having to use traction control and many can never be find high up in anything but a leaderboard car.
hence why i love getting one over them without those, really is so satisfying.
plus it seems to make me a better tuner/builder/racer doing it this way

Re: Monthly Rivals
Nurburgring Hot Lap - Check, got a solid lap in and found half a second on your time.
Bernese Alps drift - Check, bit scruffy, but it'll do.
Sebring Hot Lap - Work In Progress.

Re: Monthly Rivals
Sebring Hot Lap... I think I'm going to have to concede. I got the Jag to with in 2 tenths, but no more. Determined not to use a Beemer, tried the Ferrari and the Ford. Nope. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em I thought. Got myself a Panoz and only knocked off half a tenth. You're just sooo fast through turns 2, 3 and 4, I can never make it up.
I'll keep trying when I get chance, but I don't think it'll happen. Quality lap and resulting time Si.

Re: Monthly Rivals
naaaahh it's okay. Appreciate the offer, and in grounds of the community I should accept; but I'll keep tinkering and see what I can come up with. Maybe send it when the rivals challenge has finished. That way it doesn't feel like cheating.
